Bring in your extra craft supplies for RPL's 2026 Craft Swap! RPL staff will accept donations of craft supplies that are in good shape to the Main Library from March 1st to April 10th.
In celebration of Earth Day, RPL is hosting a FREE, all-ages craft supply swap, from noon to 3 pm on April 11th, 2026.
Supplies and tools in good working order for a variety of crafts will be accepted prior to the swap.
Donations will be accepted in the children's department and on the second floor near the Maker Space.
Bring in your extra supplies for sewing, quilting, macrame, knitting, coloring, crochet, card making, scrapbooking, painting, drawing, candle making, and more! For the swap, please bring your own reusable bag to carry supplies home in! Donations of craft supplies that are in good shape will be accepted at the Main Library from March 1st to April 10th and RPL staff will save and organize them for the swap. Any excess supplies will be given to The Scrap Jar, Rockford's creative reuse store.

The 66,000 sq.ft. Main Library opened in spring of 2024 and serves as the Rockford Public Library's main downtown facility. The newly constructed space boasts a 1st floor Children's Area complete with a dedicated computer lab, three program rooms, play structure with slide, and baby garden, a Maker Lab with access to 3D printers and scanners and small board computers, podcasting room, green screen video room, a large Young Adult Zone with gaming center, adult computer lab, local history room, and several meeting and study rooms accommodating groups of 2-8 people. Additional features include a large interactive screen, two roof-top terraces, one of which is available for rent as part of our large event space on the third floor, underground parking, and drive-thru book drop holds pickup!
