Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Design and decorate a pumpkin (w/out carving, cutting, or poking holes) based on a favorite book character. Drop off at East Branch. For complete rules see more or pick up instructions at East Branch.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Your decorated pumpkin must be based on a book character. Use a real or fake pumpkin that is NO LARGER than a basketball. No carving, cutting, or poking holes allowed. Decorate your pumpkin using acrylic paint, paint markers or permanent markers (things like washable markers and watercolors will run/smear, and spray paint might slowly dissolve a real pumpkin). Add materials like yarn, fabric, cotton balls, string, buttons, hats, wigs, wiggly eyes, feathers, beads, glitter, etc. Low-temp hot glue, tacky glue, glue dots and tape work best.
When you drop off your decorated pumpkin, please provide a notecard with the name of the book character represented and one contact name with valid phone number. Let your imagination run wild! No blood/gore, please. The three (3) pumpkins with the most votes will win a prize.
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Drop off entry at EAST BRANCH: Monday 9/28/26 - Monday 10/12/26, during business hours.
- Vote in person at EAST BRANCH: Wednesday 9/30/26 - Wednesday 10/14/26, during business hours.
- Winners notified by phone: Thursday 10/15/26. Please claim prize no later than Saturday 10/24/26.
- Whether you win or not, pick up your entry: Saturday 10/17/26 - Saturday 10/24/26 so you can enjoy your decorated pumpkin at home before Halloween.
- Any entry not picked up by 10/24/26 will be disposed of.
