Learn the basics of designing your own unique 3D models using the free Tinkercad software. No previous 3D design or printing experience is necessary. Space is limited; registration suggested

Learn how to create 3D prints using this online Computer Aided Design program. The TinkerCAD bootcamp will provide you with a basic understanding of 3D print design. This Micro-class will provide you with the following information:  

  1. Sign up for a TinkerCAD account
  2. Adding and manipulating 3D prints
  3. Adding text to prints 
  4. Importing prints
  5. The process of exporting prints.

About the library

The 36,000 sq.ft. Hart Interim Library opened Dec. 2, 2017 and serves as the Rockford Public Library’s main downtown facility.  The newly renovated space boasts a 2nd story Children’s Area with dedicated computer lab, Read, Play, Learn program room, and creative play space, a Maker Lab with access to 3D printers and scanners and small board computers a sizable Young Adult Zone with gaming center, adult computer lab, local history room, and 5 private meeting and study rooms accommodating groups of 2-8 people.
