The one take shot is the most demanding and rewarding techniques in filmmaking, requiring precise planning and coordination between the director, actors, and crew. In this class, you'll watch the entire process unfold in real time, from planning and rehearsal to the final filmed take. Using a small group of people portraying actors, we'll walk through blocking a scene involving movement through the space, just enough to introduce real complexity, so you can see firsthand how camera movement, timing and actor positioning come together to pull off a seamless single take.

About the library
The facility at 118 N. Main St. in Rockford spans 30,000 square feet and serves as a versatile space for performances, classes, community gatherings, cultural events, and technology training across the region. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Inside, you'll find the J.R. Sullivan Theater with 280 seats, the Black Box Theater with 60 seats, several meeting and classroom spaces, and the 15 station Walmart Computer Classroom.
