Children's AreaJoin the Music Academy of Rockford at the Montague library branch for a special, high-energy musical Storytime series designed for young children and their families!
Through this unique partnership, we are bringing stories to life using live music, rhythm games, and interactive sounds. Each month, professional musicians will join our library staff to explore a new musical theme, introduce children to real instruments, and foster an early love for reading and music. Come sing, clap, and read along with us!

¡Acompaña a la Music Academy de Rockford en la biblioteca Montague para disfrutar de una serie especial y muy animada de cuentacuentos musicales, diseñada para niños pequeños y sus familias!

About the library
Officially opened on May 24, 1923, the Montague Branch Library is the Library’s oldest existing branch library facility. Located on the corner of Winnebago and Montague Streets, this branch serves people living on the south and west sides of Rockford. The two-story brick building has been lovingly restored and contains many of the original oak bookcases and a fireplace. The Montague Branch offers an expanded children’s space including a dedicated play room, a wireless computer area, a classroom and the Constance V. Lane Community Room.
